On May 28th, the much anticipated Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center held its grand opening in the 12,500 sq ft restored Imperial Sugar Factory. Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land has supported this project and the FBCDC corporate mission of transforming the Fort Bend community through innovation and expanding cultural, educational, and family-oriented opportunities in the area.
As the premiere donor of the FBCDC project, Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land is honored with an exhibit in Kidtroplis – the Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land Precision Center – which emulates aspects of our local dealership. The exhibit offers young visitors the opportunity to learn about Mercedes-Benz innovation and technological advancements in vehicle manufacturing and design.
Within the precision center exhibit there is a “real-life” E-Class Cabriolet that was cut in half on display with the hood up and the engine easy to see for the young, curious, tinkering minds. The Car Design station within the Precision Center is where children can use design tools to bring their own creativity and vehicle ideas to life. Their STEM skills are also exercised when building steering and suspension models, examining vehicles for flaws in the Inspection Bay, and practicing crash test simulations to evaluate different models & their safety capabilities.
Visit the FBCDC and the Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land Precision Center and tag us @mbsugarland and use #MBSLfuture in your photos at the Kidtropolis exhibit – we’d love to see the future superstars of the automotive industry at work!
Admission is $12 per person
Open Tuesday – Saturday 10AM – 6PM
