A C-Class For A New Generation
“It’s more than a new generation of C-Class. Its intelligent technology is more intuitive. Its responsive performance, more responsible.” – MBUSA
The all-new re-engineered 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is stepping up its game in a major way as it enters its fifth generation. Mercedes-Benz offers three distinct trim levels on the new C-class: Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle. With a starting price point of $43,550 you will be amazed how many safety, style, and tech features the next-generation C-Class comes loaded with. This mid-size sedan inherits styling elements and technology from the S-class, where we first saw a lot of these features originally debuted. It has the same upscale feel, sleek design and effective second-generation MBUX interface as its larger sibling.
The most dramatic change for the C-class comes in the form of a stylish high-tech cabin that is home to chic design with an S-class-inspired look. One of the most notable upgraded features is the larger, vertically mounted infotainment system with 50 percent more processing power. This 11.9-inch screen is completely touch-controlled and angled slightly toward the driver for ease of use while driving, it runs the most up-to-date version of Mercedes’s MBUX infotainment system— complete with the voice-activated digital assistant, wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto, and online access via a Wi-Fi hotspot. Mercedes-Benz offers a generous list of standard luxury features such as heated front seats, a sunroof, automated high-beam headlamps, open-pore wood trim, and aluminum accents. Also included is a fingerprint sensor to authenticate the driver’s unique profile for memory settings. Throughout the cabin, there is a 64-color LED ambient lighting system that can be configured in a variety of ways to suit your mood giving it that elevated elegance you can only find in a Mercedes-Benz. This latest C-Class is jam-packed with the latest safety tech as well as improved driver assistance technology.
The newly engineered four-cylinder engine with mild hybrid technology delivers more torque than the previous model while improving fuel economy and the AWD system gets an upgraded front-axle drive for improved torque transfer. Overall, the redesigned C-class is about 2.5-inches longer than the outgoing model and its wheelbase has been stretched by an inch. These subtle changes to the design have created more headroom and legroom in the 2022 C-Class in addition to its robust array of standard features. Both the 2021 and 2022 models have the same grille design, but the 2022 C-Class’s headlights have a widened, teardrop shape with an upper LED light bar. The entire profile of the 2022 C-Class has shifted to create a longer, more confident hood and a pronounced roofline that gives it a sporty presence out on the road.
