Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land was recently honored at the Annual Awards Dinner hosted by The Arc of Fort Bend County. Arc supports individuals with developmental disabilities to maximize their quality of life within our community.
We’re incredibly proud to celebrate several members of our extended Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land family who were recognized for their outstanding contributions:
🌟Bernice King, Vice President of Human Resources at MBSL, was named Employer of the Year for her leadership in fostering an inclusive workplace that empowers individuals of all abilities.
🌟Lexi Villareal, a valued member of our Service Administration team, received the Employee of the Year award. Since joining us in 2023, Lexie has brought warmth and dedication to our dealership.
Lexie’s path was shaped by Candace Cowdery, who was also honored that evening as Outstanding Educator of the Year. As Lexi’s former high school teacher and now serving as the Adult Programs Director at GiGi’s Playhouse in Sugar Land, Candace has been instrumental in supporting Lexi’s transition into the workforce and continues to champion inclusive employment across the community. Their bond, built over a decade of mutual trust and encouragement, is a testament to the impact of dedicated educators and advocates.
GiGi’s Playhouse Sugar Land serves as a beacon of hope and support for individuals with Down syndrome and their families, offering essential resources, education, and care from diagnosis through adulthood. GiGi’s is one of our most beloved community partnerships. Looking ahead, we remain committed to supporting their mission to change the way the world views Down Syndrome. By creating opportunities, we hope to empower more individuals like Lexie to thrive in their community and beyond.
