The Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center is a collaborative project with the Children’s Museum of Houston designed to connect children and families with enriching experiences that foster foundational learning. We are honored to feature the Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land Precision Center exhibit in Kidtropolis. This vibrant, miniature city allows children to take on various roles—from city leaders to business owners—teaching them about civic responsibility and the inner workings of a community. In this dynamic environment, kids can manage finances, make decisions that impact their “city,” and engage in hands-on activities that teach essential life skills.

The Precision Center exhibit mirrors aspects of our local dealership and allows young visitors to explore Mercedes-Benz innovation and technological advancements in vehicle manufacturing and design. It showcases a “real-life” E-Class Cabriolet, cut in half to reveal the engine and inner workings, sparking curiosity and hands-on learning. In the Car Design station, children can unleash their creativity using design tools to bring their vehicle ideas to life. The exhibit also enhances S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills through interactive activities like building steering and suspension models, inspecting vehicles for flaws in the Inspection Bay, and performing crash test simulations to evaluate different models and their safety features.

Members also receive exclusive invitations to private events at the Discovery Center, such as our Summer Education Series. Examples of previous Discovery Center events include our Summer Education Series, featuring immersive experiences such as “Bertha Takes a Drive” and “Clifford Takes a Ride.” These interactive programs combined storytelling with hands-on activities to explore the evolution of automotive technology and the importance of vehicle safety. Guests followed Bertha Benz’s historic journey in the Benz Patent-Motorwagen, gaining insight into the origins of automotive innovation, while Clifford’s adventure introduced young attendees to essential vehicle safety features in a fun and engaging way. These events offered memorable educational experiences for families and showcased our commitment to inspiring curiosity through interactive learning.
