Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land Celebrates the Grand Opening of Velocity, Houston’s First Simulation Racing Lounge

On the weekend of March 2nd, Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land (MBSL) proudly celebrated the grand opening of Velocity Sim Lounge, Houston’s first-ever simulation racing lounge. Located in the heart of Sawyer Yards, Velocity welcomed the community for unparalleled experiences, delicious food, and special giveaways rooted in the world of motorsports. 

The 5,000-square-foot lounge immerses guests in racing excitement with 16 state-of-the-art racing simulators featuring full-motion systems, panoramic displays, and responsive platforms replicating every turn, acceleration, and braking moment with remarkable precision. As a proud sponsor of the grand opening weekend, MBSL was on-site with exclusive giveaways and brand activations to celebrate the groundbreaking addition to Houston’s motorsports scene. 

Velocity’s high-energy atmosphere is enhanced by motorsports-inspired décor, including custom track-themed lighting and intricate LEGO models of iconic sports cars. Founded by Viet Tran in collaboration with LOMA Architecture and ARIA Signs & Designs, the space blends performance and hospitality with a full-service kitchen and bar. It offers a diverse menu, signature racing-themed cocktails, such as the Le Mans 75, the Pace Car, and Senna’s Caipirinha, and refreshing mocktails like the Spicy Ginger Lemonade.
