Tips to Stay the Course

New Year’s ResolutionsOur simple guideline to help you accomplish all of your new year’s resolutions for 2016!

Be Realistic

Whatever your goals may be for 2016 make sure they are something truly attainable; otherwise, you’ll be setting yourself up for failure on day 1. For example, rather than banning yourself from chocolate forever, resolve to cutting back on your servings whether its once a week, every other week, once a month and so on.

Plan Ahead

Determine the goals that are most important to you for the coming year, whether it’s getting healthier, running a marathon, saving X amount of dollars, etc. and have a plan in place well before the clock strikes midnight on New Years’ Eve.

Keep Yourself Accountable

Share your resolutions with friends and family – they can be a source of support as well as accountability. Maybe some have similar goals and can join you on your new years’ journey!

Reward Yourself

If you reach a milestone don’t be afraid to reward yourself for your hard work – as long as it doesn’t contradict your original goal. So, if you complete that marathon treat yourself to a massage the next day!

Don’t Get Discouraged

We are all human – don’t get discouraged if you indulge in a donut or two at the office one Friday. One indulgence won’t destroy your plans as long as you don’t dwell on it and let that one mistake send you spiraling downwards. Take it one day at a time!
