UTHealth House Calls
Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land hosted UTHealth “House Calls” on Thursday, July 11 at the Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land showroom. Our team partnered with UTHealth, the largest medical center in the world, on this initiative that aims to educate the city on a variety of health topics.
The evening’s program, “From Summer to Back to School: Tips for Healthy Children and Families,” was presented by Dr. LaTanya J. Love, Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. This “House Call” offered advice on common injury protection, diet, adolescent medicine, and immunization. During the event, ABC®13 live-streamed the seminar and conducted live web chats with attendees and online viewers.
Dr. Love, who also serves as the Associate Dean of Admissions and Student Affairs of the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, specializes in Pediatric Medicine. Her insights coincided with efforts to bring awareness to important health issues and the incredible work being done by health care educators, providers and researchers at the university and its UT Physicians clinics.
“MBSL is celebrating 16 years in the community. Our focus has always been education and appreciation by bringing awareness to wellness through our support of the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center, driving safety through our exclusive Teen Driving Programs, and our community partnerships in our First Class Access program,” said Derek Brown, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development with Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land. “Tonight, we enhanced our focus with the expertise of Dr. Love and recognize the contributions by so many in the public health sector.”
Later this fall, Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land will proudly award two $5,000 scholarships to the UTHealth School of Nursing.
