Where Elegance Meets Performance: The Making of Our Latest Commercial

As part of our upcoming Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land (MBSL) commercial called ‘Performance’, a large portion was filmed at MSR Houston, a racetrack in Angleton, Texas. MSR has played a significant role in our dealership’s history, dating back to 2014. Since then, MSR has been the home of multiple events, including our annual Teen Driving Event, where local teens take road safety courses and experience the thrill of the track. With such a deep-rooted history and connection with MSR Houston, it became a natural choice for our commercial shoot.  

This partnership is a direct display of our dealership’s deep-rooted passion for motorsports and luxury performance – a legacy reflected not only in the vehicles we offer, but in our long-standing support of racing culture, high-performance engineering and the pursuit of automotive excellence.  

The standout elements of this shoot were the striking custom-designed pieces, including the race car livery, racing suit, and helmet. The race car featured in the commercial was an IndyCar wrapped in custom MBSL detailing that showcased the brand’s identity. The racing suit, designed to complement the vehicle, incorporated the same color palette and branding elements, creating a cohesive and professional look. The matching helmet completed the look, reinforcing our connection to motorsport excellence.  

Behind the wheel was MBSL Brand Ambassador and former professional driver Kory Enders, whose racing expertise helped bring authenticity and precision to every scene. To capture the perfect footage, the car raced around the track countless times, showcasing its speed, agility, and stunning custom wrap. From dynamic drone shots to immersive in-car footage, every angle highlighted the thrill of motorsport and the craftmanship behind the vehicle. 

These thrilling shots would not have been achievable without the support and expertise of the entire DeForce Racing team. Operating a racing car, even in a controlled environment like a commercial shoot, requires the same level of coordination and dedication seen on race day. The pit crew played a vital role, standing by at the sidelines for every lap, ready to jump into action at a moment’s notice for adjustments, cooling, or maintenance.  

In addition to the custom-wrapped race car, the shoot also featured a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG®, an iconic model known for its distinctive gullwing doors and track-ready performance, as well as the sporty Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT. 

The commercial shoot at MSR Houston brought together everything that defines Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land – performance, precision and passion. From our long-standing partnership with the track to our custom designed elements, every detail reflects our commitment to excellence both on and off the road.
